We set sail from Festival Pier on a beautiful sunny summer Saturday. 100 guests embarked on a boat party cruise, up and down the River Thames, where we were able to share the magic of The Yandisa Foundation, what it has accomplished in the short space of 1 year and the potential it has to make a real difference people’s lives.
Our incredible event organisers, Alyssa Halse and Leila Patterson, pulled out all the stops; having organised The River Princess, dressed in the Yandisa signature green and white colours, with a free flowing day of fun topped off by a mind-blowing performance from the South African-born international artist, Jordan Arts.
Matthew Whitmore introduced our newcomers to the story of Yandisa, sharing what we are aiming to accomplish with the Foundation, and warmly thanked our originating members for their unwavering support for the cause. One of the most exciting announcements of the day was that, with our new corporate sponsors (PKF International), we have been able to extend our support to a second young lady, Bulelwa.
The money we raised from the event is enough to fund another entire year of high school.
Thank you to Everisto Chabalanda for speaking at the event and sharing his story, Jake Heath for creating the hype on our social media platforms in the lead up to the event and helping to capture the day, Julian Bowman for his continued work behind the scenes in driving our digital transformation and Jordan Arts for blessing our guests with your music.
And most importantly, thank you to our phenomenal community of members and supporters – YOU are the reason that we are able to change lives and YOU are contributing towards the change we want to see in the world.
